Curriculum Overview

San Carlos School seeks to follow the curriculum guidelines established by the Diocese of Monterey, the National Catholic Education Association, the State of California, and the National Education Standards issued by the United States Department of Education.

The curriculum emphasizes developmental growth in learning skills in the areas of Religion, Language Arts, Science, Social Studies, Mathematics, Spanish, Technology, Physical Education, Art, Music, and Library Studies.  Technology is integrated into all subject areas.

Religion classes are taught daily.  We believe that through the experience of Catholic schooling at San Carlos School, our students will be prepared to be leaders in the Church and society. Click here for the Monterey Diocesan Curriculum Guidelines for Religion.

Co-curricular activities may include: student government, after school sports, field trips, retreats, outdoor education, student liturgies, Math competitions, yearbook, spelling bees, and community service projects.

To complement the value systems of the school and family, the Extended Day Care Program is offered. Quality care with a nurturing staff in a planned environment provides a rich before/after school experience.
