Distance Learning Program
San Carlos School remains committed to the development of the whole child as our students flourish into faith-filled, virtuous, compassionate, and conscientious stewards who respect all creation. Whether it is “in-person” or “virtual” environments, our students maintain relationships and build community in new and exciting ways. Through optimizing synchronous meeting times and creating as many opportunities for our students to connect with teachers, families, community, and each other as possible, San Carlos School continues to develop resilient PEACEkeepers and scholars!
Virtual Classrooms and Connections
San Carlos School is committed to connecting with students daily through online platforms such as ZOOM, Google Classroom, and FACTS Family Portal. Our program utilizes synchronous teaching sessions daily to connect with and educate students, relying on asynchronous teaching methods when it is most needed or beneficial for a specific situation.
All online lessons are recorded and available for students to view at later times to support learning for all situations. Teachers also post detailed weekly lesson plans at the beginning of each week to allow for flexibility and guided direction.
School-wide Family Challenges, Lower School Fun Fridays, and Middle School Game Nights are just a few of the ways San Carlos School builds community through fun, creative, and faith-filled events! Our Virtual Pet Show, Virtual Art and Talent Shows, and Virtual May Crowning are some ways our students, families, and staff were able to connect during Spring Distance Learning with more to come in 2020 - 2021.
